The Prophet ﷺ: Wipe away all your mistakes
The Prophet ﷺ: Wipe away all your mistakes
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Whoever glorifies Allah (says SubhanAllah) at the end of every prayer thirty-three times, praises Allah (says Alhamdulillah) thirty-three times, and says 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest) thirty-three times, making ninety-nine, and then completes the hundred by saying: 'La ilaha illa Allah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shayin qadir' (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone, with no partner, to Him belongs all dominion and to Him is all praise, and He is Able to do all things.) his sins will be forgiven even if they were as abundant as the foam of the sea." [Narrated by Muslim]The Prophet ﷺ gave us a simple yet profound formula to cleanse our souls after every Fard (obligatory) prayer. Even if your mistakes are as vast as the ocean, this Dhikr is your path to forgiveness.
📜 The Prophetic Promise:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Whoever glorifies Allah 33 times, praises Allah 33 times, and declares His greatness 33 times—making ninety-nine—and completes the hundred by saying:
'La ilaha illa Allah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shayin qadir' (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone, with no partner, to Him belongs all dominion and to Him is all praise, and He is Able to do all things)
...his sins will be forgiven even if they were as abundant as the foam of the sea." > — [Narrated by Muslim]
📥 The Simple 100-Count Formula:
SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah) — 33x
Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) — 33x
Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) — 33x
The Final Seal (The Statement of Tawheed) — 1x
💡 Why "Foam of the Sea"?
Scholars explain that this metaphor represents sins that are:
Numerous: Impossible to count.
Constant: Like the waves that never stop.
Superficial: Small sins (minor sins) that accumulate through daily life but can be washed away by the "ocean" of Allah's mercy.
🌟 Benefits of this Practice:
Spiritual Mindfulness: It prevents you from rushing away immediately after the Taslim.
Gratitude: It grounds you in the realization that you only performed the prayer by Allah’s tawfiq (success).
Protection: Keeping the tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah shields the heart from heedlessness.
